“I had a baby in May last year and my mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer 5 months later. I think the sleep problems set in just after my baby was born. “I was skeptical that the program could work after having had problems falling asleep for more than 10 years. I have had to wear ear plugs to reduce external distractions for most of the time I have had difficulties with sleep.
Now that I listen to Sleep Tracks, I find that I fall asleep either during Insomnia Buster or early into the Fall Asleep track without the ear plugs. I am 28 years old and currently live in Melbourne, Australia.
Sorry if this is a bit of a novel. My whole life I have always been a light sleeper and will wake up from the slightest disturbance but I could normally get a reasonable sleep.
I started experiencing a real problem with insomnia about 4 years ago. Partly it was due to having to share a bed with my partner but I also began to have a lot of trouble falling asleep. Some nights it might take me anywhere from 1-3 hours to get to sleep.
Occasionally I would lie in bed all night in a state of semi consciousness and not properly get to sleep at all.
When I did manage to get to sleep I would normally wake up again around 2-3 in the morning and then not be able to get back to sleep at all until about 6 am only to be woken up at 7 am by my alarm. To make things worse I also suffer from chronic back pain making it very hard to get comfortable and I would often wake up with an ache in my back.
All in all I would probably get on average between 3 and 4 hours sleep a night.
After a while this started having a serious effect on my mood. I was constantly grumpy and snappy where before I was a pretty laid back, easy going sort of person. Generally I felt like crap the whole time. I spent the day in a zombie like state and have real trouble concentrating at work and university.
I used to have a pretty active social life and could easily stay out all night and party with my friends. Now I avoid going out at all costs because I am so tired, by 10 pm I could not be bothered even speaking to people and just wanted to be at home by myself in bed.
I feel sorry for my partner having to put up with me in this state for so long as it could not be easy for her either.
I had been to at least 4 different doctors and 2 sleep specialists. I was referred to a naturopath who took blood tests and designed a course of medications to try to bring my hormone levels back on track. He recommended I join a gym which I did. I found that going to the gym for an hour and a half in the morning would help but inconsistently.
He told me i was suffering from adrenal shock and my sleep cycle was upside down. I was taking some kind of cortisole drug in the morning to wake me up, something for my adrenal glands and melatonin and phosphitidal serine before bed to get me to sleep but nothing helped. He told me that I may need to take these medications for the rest of my life. I have spent thousands and thousands on treatments but nothing seemed to help.
Every so often after a really bad week of no sleep I would have a fight with my partner and have a compete breakdown and cry for about an hour. I felt that I would have to live like this for the rest of my life and that no-one else actually understood what I was going through. I started to believe that there was no hope and couldn’t imagine how I would make it through life feeling like this all the time. I was beginning to have some pretty depressive thoughts and I started to worry that I was also suffering from depression.
After my most recent breakdown 3 weeks ago I got on the internet in desperation to try to search for another sleep specialist to try something new and stumbled upon your website. Being desperate and willing to try anything I ordered
the sleeptracks pack and instantly downloaded the tracks so I could try it that night. I was spending $100 a month on medication so $80 was nothing for a hope of a solution to my problem.
The first night I listened to the insomnia buster before bed with headphones and then tried the all night track with music through a stereo system in my bedroom. After an hour of being awake I got up and switched to the all night track without music and within 15 minutes I was alseep. I woke up a couple of times during the night but was able to get back to sleep after a short time.
Since then I have had a couple of bad nights but have generally noticed a massive difference in my quality and length of sleep. The bad nights have been when I have not been able to go to bed at my regular time and have not listened to the insomnia buster before bed. I find the volume is important and if it is too loud it makes it hard to sleep.
One night I went to bed without listening to the insomnia buster track and was still awake after one hour so I tried the sleep reduction technique that you describe in one of the courses. I got up and sat in the dark with my eyes closed and listened to the insomnia buster for 20 minutes. I then went back to bed and put on the all night track and was then able to get to sleep pretty quickly.
I have only watched the 3rd course at this stage as I have not had the time but I will make sure I watch the rest very soon. I found it very helpful and it changed the way I saw my problem. I would get very anxious when I could not sleep and I was aware that this only made things worse but didnt know how to stop.
I have only been using the tracks for about 2 weeks now so I dont want to count all my chickens before they hatch but I am very excited at the difference I have noticed so far. The other day I actually felt the best that I could remember in a long time and I have noticed a big difference in my mood from the extra sleep.
I am pretty confident that using the tracks will continue to help me to sleep and if it does I wont be able to thank you enough. Being able to regain the ability to get regular sleep will make such a huge difference in my life and only someone who is in the same boat would understand what that would be like.

I am writing on behalf of my husband Wes, for whom I purchased the Sleeptracks last weekend. We have had a business since 1993 which requires us to be up very early. For the first 6 years we always got up at 4am and went to bed at 8.30, but for the last 9 years our hours have been changing every day – sometimes he needs to be on the job at 3am, and other times 7am, so we often find ourselves “trying” to go to sleep earlier than usual so that he gets enough sleep. “I don’t really think I ever slept with any kind of great quality, other than when I was a baby. July 29, 2003 I was involved in a really bad car accident. “My insomnia began from developing fibromyalgia some years ago but through diet, exercise and understanding about headmind and bodymind, my fibromyalgia has almost gone into remission. “My sleep disorder started with me waking up at 4:30am, then 3:30 am and so on until eventually I was not able to fall asleep when I went to bed. Hence, the start of taking sleeping pills. “I havent slept particularly well for 20 years! (pregnancies, followed by small children, a snoring husband and not great gut health). I had some major abdominal surgery a year ago and this further disrupted what was already not a great sleep pattern. Busy surgical wards are 24 hour environments especially when you share a bay with 5 other ill people! I was in for nearly 3 weeks and when I came home again was living in a fog of fatigue and attempting to recover. Whilst I made a good recovery, the sleep habit was still awful. I am in the medical profession and know tons about insomnia treatment but nothing I've tried comes close to your program in terms of effectiveness. I am so curious to learn more about how the tracks work.
There could be so many applications!
The key, as you point out, has been to shift my thinking from attempting to sleep to LETTING GO. The tracks help me do that for the first time by giving me something to really focus on. I meditate and do all sorts of mindfulness practices but the tracks allow me to get present immediately.
When my son takes his afternoon nap I put everything aside and lay down to listen to the power nap. I usually fall asleep (lightly) or relax deeply for about 20 min. Before your program I'd lie down and think "ok, gabe is down, now I HAVE TO GET TO SLEEP NOW cause it's my only chance." Of course I couldn't nap then! I listen to Insomnia Buster after he goes down for the night in my darkened living room usually sitting up and then I get so relaxed that I'm laying down by the end. For the last few nights I've listened to the Fall Asleep track for about 10 min and then stop, put in my earplugs and fall asleep.
Sometimes I do have to get out of bed. I'll go downstairs and sit on the couch quietly and usually fall asleep there at which point I'll go back to the bedroom and get to sleep fairly quickly afterwards.
The program has been very good for my marriage as well. Before I'd rely so much on my husband for emotional support when I'd go through a bad sleep spell and that would take it's toll. Your emails and support are fantastic because you truly "get" the pain and misery of insomnia. It helps so much.
I'm sure I will continue to reap the benefits as I use the program. Looking forward to more tracks. Oh, the other thing is that the price is so reasonable. When you consider that a month's supply of sleeping pills is over $100 along with the Dr's visit $77 is nothing.
Plus your program should have lasting effects as opposed to sleeping pills.

"I no longer think of myself as having a sleep problem"
"My sleep pattern transformed during the 2 months since I purchased SleepTracks. I had been having bouts of insomnia for years but had suffered from severe lack of sleep for several weeks when I came across your website, so much so that my hands were shaking and I didn't dare drive any distance, fearing lack of concentration may cause an accident.
My main sleep problem was waking in the early hours and being unable to get back to sleep, although occasionally I would find it difficult to get to sleep in the first place and would lie awake for hours. I often felt as though I had not slept at all.
When I first tried the Fall Asleep track, I became quite agitated and felt unwell, almost seasick. After getting in touch with you by e-mail, I realised that the Insomnia Buster was the more appropriate track for my problem and listened to this every evening or sometimes in the afternoon for several weeks, during which time my sleep pattern gradually improved. Even if I only managed 4 hours, I would feel ok, as it was sound sleep.

"I have accessed the members area and downloaded the tracks. Thanks very much -- they work! I've only used them a few nights, but I noticed a difference right away. I haven't suffered with insomnia for a long time, but it just got serious over the summer.
In the last weeks I've been sleeping very little, and waking up shortly after going to bed with strong feelings of anxiety and nervousness. Sometimes these episodes would last almost the rest of the night. I thought it probably had something to do with some sort of chemical imbalance (melatonin or serotonin), to have happened so suddenly, but I had no explanation; either that or it was the result of something subconscious (pressures at work, etc.). I tried increasing the vitamins, eating foods to make me sleepy (I already exercise quite a bit), with little results. As I said, this has all developed over the summer, although I've had short periods of insomnia in the past -- winters with no light in northern New York are similar to yours in Quebec -- so it wasn't entirely new.
So then I saw your website last week when I could not sleep at all and decided to try it. I'm sleeping better already. Even the first night -- the tracks helped me go to sleep and stay there almost immediately. I also find that if I wake up briefly during the night I can go right back to sleep with little effort. In the past this had become pretty much impossible.
I'm looking forward to continuing and learning more and getting much better at controlling my sleep situation. I tried the Power Nap the other day -- it was excellent, and I felt like I had slept an entire night after only twenty minutes.

"I have waited quite a while to send this letter because I wanted to make sure the Sleep Tracks solution wasn’t just a temporary “cure de jour”. To my utter amazement, I have been sleeping better everyday and even napping for the first time in 30 years! What’s even more incredible is that I’ve only been able to listen to the tracks sporadically about 6 times! I consider this an absolute miracle! I’d like to share my story with you, so you’ll know just how incredible a miracle this has been for me.
This is probably a long, tedious history of what brought me to you in the first place, but if it can help even ONE person avoid the agony I have been through over the last 3 or 4 months, it’s worth my time writing it.
Over the last 20 years, I have dealt with many difficult trials, i.e. deaths of family members (including 2 stillborn little boys), $200,000 in uninsured medical bills for my husband’s heart attack, surgeries & many health issues, some severe accidental injuries, and caring for elderly parents along with my own 5 children. Two years ago, just about the time I thought the pressure was about to let up, my oldest daughter got divorced and moved home with us. I became a full-time babysitter for her 2, 4, and 7-year-old children while she worked and went to school.
As the stresses mounted, my own health began to deteriorate. I hadn’t slept more than about 6 hours a day since I started having children, but during the last 2 years, I was sleeping less and less. It was normal to lie away until 2:00-5:00 AM, becoming even more stressed knowing that I’d have to be up by 7:30 AM to take care of my grandchildren. I could never nap during the day. I’d lay down, desperately tired, but my brain would just never shut off. I began taking Tylenol PM, which seemed to help for a while, but it would leave me groggy during the day. I also tried countless “remedies” from health food stores, which did nothing but drain my bank account.
In May of 2007, I decided to ask my doctor for the prescription Ambien which had been touted as “safe” and “non-addictive” in all the TV and magazine ads.
It worked fine the first night, but very shortly evolved into no more than 4 hours of sleep at the most. I’d awaken at 3:30 AM, just tossing and turning until I had to get up. Soon the migraines started and constant dizziness. During the day, I felt like I was walking around in a fog! After a month and a half of being nearly completely bedridden and unable to care for my grandchildren, I began going to different doctors trying to diagnose my problems.
The doctor who prescribed the Ambien simply prescribed lots of OTC meds, none of which helped. An Ear, Nose & Throat doctor prescribed antibiotics, 2 weeks of cortisone in case it was an allergy, and wanted to fill me up with prescription painkillers including Staedal… all of which would “knock me out” until the headaches passed! That was exactly the opposite of what I wanted! I was already missing out on all the fun family events in my life! I felt like I’d missed the whole summer!
I even went to my eye doctor to see if he could detect a problem. My chiropractor was the only one who could temporarily reduce my headaches with acupuncture. My ability to sleep was getting less and less and my stress level was through the roof! I was completely preoccupied with my own health and my depression was growing day by day.
I spent constant hours on the internet trying to find a natural solution to my headaches and dizziness. I refused to succumb to the doctors who wanted me to solve my issues with piles of addictive and dangerous drugs. At the suggestion of my chiropractor, I even gave up all soft drinks, (for religious reasons, I don’t drink alcohol, smoke or use caffeine anyway), and I also gave up everything with artificial sweeteners (Aspertame) in it hoping that would make a difference.
To my great dismay, nothing I did reduced the headaches and dizziness. I assumed that all of my problems were probably being caused by my lack of sleep. Since the Ambien wasn’t keeping me asleep very long, my doctor prescribed Ambien CR (controlled release). Because of my husband’s health history, we can’t afford health insurance; so purchasing the Ambien CR at $130/month was really straining our budget. Unfortunately, even that didn’t give me more than 4 hours at night. I had actually begun to take the Ambien along with Tylenol PM, just so I could sleep a few minutes longer! I got worried that I was taking a risk combining the two meds, so I finally called my doctor again. This time he recommended a prescription for Lunesta instead. I was so frustrated from lack of sleep and headaches that I was beginning to feel like my life was just slipping away.
That night, during my usual bout with insomnia, I decided to check out the “side effects of Ambien” on the internet. To my astonishment, every symptom I had been experiencing was right at the top of the list!!! Since it was the ONLY medication I was taking, I was simply aghast that not ONE of my doctors had EVER mentioned that Ambien might have these side effects!!! The more I researched, the more alarmed I became! From that very moment, I resolved to never take it again, regardless of the consequences.
That first night without it, I became deeply discouraged because I had to get up at 7:30 AM. It was already approaching 4:00 AM and I was nowhere close to falling asleep. In desperation, I began searching the internet for “natural remedies for insomnia” and came across your website. Frankly, it seemed positively preposterous that a person could be cured of anything by simply listening to audio tracks, especially even when highly trained doctors couldn’t diagnose or cure me! And this “cure” for insomnia wasn’t even coming from a professional in the medical field.
My poor husband was also awake at that time…my anxiety spilled over and ruined many of his nights too. I sheepishly ran the Sleep Tracks idea past him, but this normally highly skeptical man was surprisingly very supportive, probably since he was so tired of my constant complaining and was also ready to try just about anything. I didn’t tell him, however, what the price would be. I figured that it was about half the cost of the prescription Lunesta that I was supposed to purchase the next day, and decided I’d tell him about the cost ONLY if by some MIRACLE it actually worked.
He very generously told me I could simply play the tracks out loud on our CD player instead of wearing headphones that first night. I have to admit that when they first started playing, I was immediately struck by a feeling of absurdity. I felt so stupid that I had fallen for such a silly scheme that I kept laughing out loud during the first half of the CD. My husband finally scolded me and told me I should at least be quiet and give it a try! Another reason it seemed so ludicrous was because I had gone to such great lengths over the years to maintain absolute SILENCE during the night (including taking the phone out of my room and wearing ear plugs), and there I was deliberately creating “noise” and expecting to fall asleep! This was just too bizarre! I was so “wired” from stress that I couldn’t imagine how the Sleep Tracks could possibly have ANY effect on me. However, I listened to the Insomnia Track a couple of times, shut it off and then fell asleep for an hour.
I listened to it again the next night. But to my utter surprise, I SLEPT!! I would still wake up about every hour, but amazingly, I would drift back to SLEEP!!! Altogether, I think I slept around 7 hours!!! I couldn’t remember the last time that happened! I began to have hope for the first time in months! The next day, I actually had a 45-minute NAP! I couldn’t believe it!
Well.. to bring an extremely long story to an end, I am sleeping better and better each day. I still wake up several times a night, but I always go back to sleep. I know if I’d use the Tracks more faithfully, I’d progress faster, so I’m going to put myself on a regular schedule.
Incidentally, the headaches and dizziness have nearly completely gone away and I’m up and active again for the first time in months! I can’t swear in a court of law that it was all caused by the Ambien, but I’m still warning everyone in sight about it and directing them to your website.
I don’t know if you’ll even take the time to read this obnoxiously long letter, but I still had to write it, if for no other reason than to thank you for your determination in your research which brought about this great miracle in my life. May God bless you always!
